in Yoga
This year international yoga day falls one day before the winter solstice – which makes it the perfect time to revisit your 2023 intentions and infuse your daily rituals with the things that make you feel nourished and inspired. Some ways you can honour your practice are …
1. Get On Your Mat
We have some beautiful yoga classes lined up at each of our studios to help you acknowledge the sanctity and power of your asana practice. Whatever yoga means to you personally, keep that feeling alive in your heart as you practice with us in the studio (or via livestream).
2. Set Intentions
Consciously focusing on the meaning of your practice can help you get clear about the intentions you set for each yoga class, and other important areas of your life. Take some time to check in and consider if your actions are aligned with the intentions you’ve already set for yourself. Or set some new intentions that feel aligned with your soul’s purpose and desires. Free-flow journaling can help you explore your intentions in more depth, so be completely open and honest with yourself – your journal is for your eyes only.
3. Practice Ahimsa
Ahimsa is the ethical practice of not causing harm to other living beings. So let’s all contribute to making the world a more peaceful place on IYD (and every day) by consciously choosing compassion, kindness, empathy, respect & patience. Let your good feelings flow out in the world; hopefully, it will inspire those around you to do the same.
4. Be Present
Turn off your phone, computer and TV! Then use this time to consciously do something that nourishes your soul – cook your favourite meal and enjoy every mouthful, go for a walk with someone special, spend some time listening to the sounds of nature, or take a ritual bath. Be present in the moment and everything it brings; experience how it feels in your mind, body and heart… do something that makes you feel good.
5. Share Your Practice With Someone Special
If you’d like to share your practice with someone special, come see us at the front desk, and we’ll give you a buddy pass that you can use in the class of your choice.
